patagonia

Region Patagónica

Patagonia is characterized by the Andes Mountains in the west and the dry flat steppe, as you look east, a big change of landscape in just a few miles.  Andean peaks with glaciers, snow  and subtropical thick attoninishing rain forest, along the western rivers are a characteristic scenario.  On the eastern rivers you are in dry country "the Patagonia steppe", where there are shrubs and willows trees along the river, huge wide-open places., where  Guanacos, ostrages and Hears run freely and commonly Condors flying across the skies.
Most of the rivers are on the Pacific Drainage, from the East Slope of the Andes they completely turn around to run back through the mountains to the sea.  Those draining to the Atlantic go east for hundreds of miles crossing Patagonia.
