WELCOME to RIVERS IN PATAGONIA
A fly fishing trip is one of the greatest ways to travel into a country's culture, to share the hospitality of the people and to enjoy nature where life seems timeless. When you fly fish in Patagonia you'll be standing in places where the silence of a river, the forest and the delicacy of a Fly-cast becomes a full time pleasure. You will be encircled by Nature with Birds, Wild Flowers and Rivers that abound in and around.
These experiences will be imprinted in your memories forever.
Patagonia is naturally characterized by the “Cordillera de los Andes” famous mountain range in the west. Andean peaks with glaciers, snow and thick subtropical rainforest along and over the western rivers is the typical scenario. Draining on the east slope of the Andes they completely turn around to run south and west through the mountains toward the sea cutting thru the Andes into deep valleys as part of the “Pacific Drainage”. As you look east, into the “Meseta Patagonica” the dry flat steppe it’s crossed by the eastern rivers meandering across huge open land covered with shrubs and willow trees along them becoming the Atlantic drainage where Lamas, Ostrich and Foxes run freely and it is not uncommon to be over glided by the majestic Condor.
A big change of landscape in just a few miles.
Surrounded by a spectacular natural scenery protected into the “Nahuel Huapi National Park”, Bariloche is the “northern entrance” to Patagonia,
Bariloche´s international airport is 10 miles east from town with airlines like Aerolineas Argentinas/Austral and LAN Chile operating flights to different destinations on a regular basis to Buenos Aires, and Santiago de Chile. As we travel south you will visit different small towns like El Bolsón, El Hoyo, Cholila, El Maiten, and Esquel as the southernmost town in the Andes, with an airport for domestic flights.
Both Bariloche and Esquel can be your door to get into Patagonia .
The astonishing extension of the Andes and the Patagonia Steppe gives South West Argentina a well known “Prestige” for pristine waters great fly fishing, good beef, red wines; and the typical local hospitality. These are all good reasons to come for a trip of a lifetime.
For every single trip we customize the itinerary at your convenience. Fishing different rivers and small mountain lakes, either wadding or “floating to wade” as a comfortable access to some fishing waters. Shorter or longer trips are available.
Our trips are suitable for non-anglers companions that would enjoy the area horseback ridding- hiking- bird watching – sightseeing.
