Gear to bring

Besides the normal gear and clothing you will need to take on a fishing trip here are some tips about what you will need to fish these rivers.

 

Rods and Lines: 4/5 and 6/7 weight rods will handle weather conditions and most waters nicely, make sure to bring floating and floating/sinking lines as well. At least 1 Tinny Line 200. Leaders going from “71/2 ft. 3 X” to “12 ft 6x” and Fluorocarbon Tippets de 2x - 4x – 5x y 6x.

Flies:

Terrestrials: Crickets, Chernobyl ants, Foam beetles, Foam ants. Tarantulas.


Nymphs: To have in your box a dozen “Tungsten bead heads” nymphs is very useful. Prince, Brassies, Pheasant Tail, Copper John, Hare’s ear, Caddies pupas, stonefly nymphs. Nymphs are used in this part of the country, Regular and Bead Head. Zug bug.
